ESD protection diodes for laptops, tablets and more
Vishay Intertechnology has announced the SMFxxA series of surface-mount ESD protection diodes. Featuring a low 1 mm profile thanks to their SMF package, the SMFxxA series devices are ideal for line transient voltage protection in space-constrained electronics, such as laptops, notebooks, tablets, external hard drives, and more.
Featuring "Low-Noise" technology, and very fast response times, the SMFxxA series consists of 32 devices offering a peak pulse current from 2.1 A to 21.7 A and excellent clamping capability from 9.2 V to 95 V. The SMFxxA series protection diodes also provide working voltages from 5 V to 58 V and low incremental surge resistance.
Operating from a wide temperature range from -55 °C to +150 °C, the SMFxxA protection diodes provide ESD capability of ± 30 kV (air and contact discharge) in accordance with IEC 61000-4-2. Supporting high-temperature soldering to 260 °C / 10 s at their terminals, and meeting the MSL Level 1 standard per J-STD-020, the devices are RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and Vishay Automotive Grade.
Available in Q4 2013, production quantities have lead times of eight weeks for larger orders. Get samples now.
