Emerson Network Power Introduces Two New Advances In Surge Protection for Video and Surveillance Installations
Emerson Network Power has introduced two new surge protection devices specifically designed to provide greater assurance and safety for critical surveillance system components. The Edco CP-24 and Edco HVCP-48-BNC are new additions to Emerson Network Power’s comprehensive surveillance surge protection solutions that encompass closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras, data, video and DC power.
The new Edco CP-24 surge suppresor safeguards the DC power input to security cameras, and features quick-snap installation for power applications up to 24 VDC. The Edco CP-24 requires no additional wiring and can simply be plugged in directly, or in series, at a camera’s power terminal. High-speed silicon avalanche diode (SAD) technology clamps high-energy transients that can damage CCTV equipment. For an even more comprehensive solution, the Edco CCTV-1 can be added to protect the camera’s BNC video input.
Also introduced was the Edco HVCP-48-BNC combination unit, a hybrid surge protection product offering a three-part solution to safeguard data, video input, and DC power. Featuring separate circuits, the Edco HVCP-48-BNC can handle high-current impulses while simultaneously clamping transients and allowing critical power and data to be transmitted.
“The Edco CP-24 and HVCP-48-BNC products advance the level of protection available to our surveillance customers,” said Eric Marshall, director of sales & marketing, Surge Protection, Emerson Network Power. “They each deliver unsurpassed performance, streamline installation and operation. For example, the Edco HVCP-48-BNC does the work of what would have previously required three separate devices. It’s simply a smarter, more streamlined approach.”
Both products have been added to Emerson Network Power’s extensive portfolio of surge protection for surveillance solutions. As equipment failure within a surveillance system can prevent capture of critical information – and create potential safety and liability risks – Emerson Network Power has identified surge hot spots within surveillance systems, and developed products to specifically address these risks.
