Vishay - Ultra-Miniature SMD IR Receivers to Offer Two Photodiodes and Patented Internal EMI Shielding Inside Package With 2.35-mm Profile
Vishay has announced a new series of ultra-miniature SMD IR receivers for remote control systems that are the industry’s first such devices to feature two photodiodes, along with patented internal metal EMI shielding, inside an ultra-thin package with a 2.35-mm profile. The lens-less design of the TSOP75xxxW devices results in the industry’s best sensitivity-to-size ratio, with irradiance from 0.3 mW/sqm to 0.7 mW/sqm over a wide angle of ± 75°.
The The TSOP75xxxW devices offer low power consumption with a supply current of 0.35 mA typical at 3.3 V. The receivers’ epoxy package is designed as an IR filter, which features a frequency range optimized for reducing emissions from plasma displays. Compatible with top- or side-view use, the devices are insensitive to supply voltage and ripple noise and offer an improved immunity against ambient light.
The TSOP75xxxW series was designed to fulfill the needs of current and future consumer and laptop designs, where small space and re-flow solder technology are required. The devices are optimized for remote control and data transmission applications in small handheld electronics, such as notebook computers, digicams, and portable music and video players, as well as set-top boxes, thin LCD TVs, game controllers, navigation systems, and USB-TV.
The receivers offer a supply voltage range of 2.5 V to 5.5 V and operate over a carrier frequency of 30 kHz to 56 kHz. All devices are in accordance with RoHS 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC.
