Excelitas Technologies announced today new offerings within its industry-leading single photon counting module (SPCM) suite of products designed to provide customers with the highest level of photon detection efficiency.
Built upon Excelitas’ SLiK™ Single Photon Avalanche Diode, these enhanced modules offer unmatched linearity and dynamic range. Specifically designed for OEMs in life science and research applications, the SPCM-AQRH, with a fiber coupling option, and the new timing optimized SPCM-AQRH-TR delivers on the scientific community’s need for the highest-performing photon counting solutions.

The enhanced SPCM-AQRH offers an unmatched dynamic range and detects single photons over the wavelength range of 400 nm to 1060 nm. Leveraging a unique silicon avalanche photodiode, it achieves a peak photon detection efficiency of greater than 70% (700 nm) over a 180 µm diameter active area to deliver maximum efficiency. The photodiode is both thermoelectrically cooled and temperature controlled, ensuring stabilized performance despite fluctuating ambient temperatures.

The new SPCM-AQRH-TR module is designed specifically to meet the needs of the time-correlated single photon counting market and is intended for highly focused applications like fluorescence lifetime measurements and fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy. The AQRH-TR will offer an optimized timing resolution of <250 ps

“Excelitas is delighted to showcase at Photonics West the latest advancements in SPCMs and growing portfolio of detection solutions, “ said Michael Ersoni, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Excelitas Technologies’ global detection business. “With our latest innovations, we are excited to provide our customers with leading-edge detection solutions that their unique applications require.”
