Small LED flood lights offer performance upgrades at superior value
MaxLite releases its 3rd gen of small LED flood lights as energy-saving replacements for quartz halogen and metal halide fixtures in commercial and residential outdoor lighting applications. Listed by DesignLights Consortium (DLC), the upgraded small LED flood lights create bright, shadow-free security and spot lighting for facades, landscapes, public places, retail and residential complexes, and hospitality applications.
Offered in four power levels, and wide and narrow beam distributions, the lights replace 100W quartz halogen through 250W metal halide fixtures with four times the life and 75% in energy savings. The new gen features the addition of a higher output, 50W model that delivers more than 5000lm, as well as 15-, 20- and 40W versions to suit a broad range of lighting needs. Efficacy for the line has improved significantly, upgraded to 130lm/W, while the lifetime on most models now exceeds 200,000 hours. In addition to the standard 5000K, MaxLite now offers all of its Small LED Flood Lights in a warmer 4000K colour temperature ideal for sign illumination and hospitality applications.
“Our new small LED flood lights offer improvements in performance and longevity at a considerable cost savings over previous generations,” noted Vice President of Product Management and Engineering Greg Galluccio. “On average, customers will pay 30 percent less for a fixture that delivers more lumens per watt and consumes less energy, giving them an even quicker ROI.”
Constructed of a durable aluminum housing that resists rust and corrosion, the lights feature a tempered glass lens with a black ceramic frit mask that reduces glare and provides a polished look. An optional polycarbonate lens is also available for impact resistance. Each fixture features an integral listed driver, potted within a separate compartment, to ensure cool operation and maximum lumen maintenance. The lights are compatible with mechanical relay-type photocells for additional energy savings, and mount at almost any angle with a yoke style arm and half-inch National Pipe Thread (NPT).
