Output couplers are used predominantly in laser resonators to extract the beam.

The laser resonator is optimised through suitable choice of degree of reflection of the output coupler. Output couplers are also commonly used in attenuation, with the back face typically AR coated to reduce losses.

LASER COMPONENTS can offer partially reflective mirrors with dielectric coatings between 193nm and 5um on BK7, fused silica, CaF2 and MgF2. The latter two materials being used in excimer laser resonators for their chlorine and fluorine resistance. Partially reflective coatings are offered as standard at 0° as output couplers and 45° as beamsplitters.

LASER COMPONENTS specialise in the production of custom high LIDT coatings to suit the needs of demanding and specific applications.
