CoolLED, a leading supplier of high-performance LED products and part of the Andover-based CIL group of companies, has created two new divisions to add to its existing Life Sciences division. The new operations are Design and Industrial and are formed in response to the recognition that LEDs offer many benefits for a wide range of applications and the resulting increase in demand that CoolLED has experienced for products requiring LED illumination.
The Design division has been created to address the requirements of OEMs who wish to incorporate LED technology into their products and will provide custom optoelectronic designs based on LED illumination. These designs will vary from proving functionality of concept, design of sub-assembly for integration within final product to complete sub-contract design and build capability.

The Industrial division will increase the range of LED products offered by CoolLED addressing markets where LED technology is now able to provide illumination such as medical lighting, UV curing and printing. As part of this programme the successful 2600-series UV curing pen is being relaunched with enhanced functionality.

Nick Edwards, R&D director for CoolLED, said: This is an exciting stage for CoolLED as the company's initial activities have proven that our experience and capability with LEDs has relevance to many applications and markets. We look forward to this next stage of develepment for business.

To support the new divisions, a new website has been launched at www.coolled.com to assist visitors identify which areas interest them, find relevant information, and make contact with CoolLED personnel for further discussion.
