Marl launches custom infra red LED capability for military, security applications
Marl International today announced that it has the capability to design and manufacture bespoke infra red LED assemblies, associated, if required with floodlights. Such lights are becoming increasingly popular in a range of applications where they are used in association with night vision cameras and goggles to 'see without being seen'. Marl anticipates that customers for these assemblies will include security and perimeter protection organisations, as well as the military.
MarlAccording to David Moorhouse, Operations Director at Marl International, Infra red LEDs are extremely robust and power efficient and can withstand high levels of shock and vibration. They are thus ideal for defence and other demanding applications. Designing and building infra red LEDs is a demanding process that involves sourcing products from suppliers in over 20 countries and integrating them together to high standards of quality and reliability. Marl provides customers with a one stop shop: designing a light to their specific requirements, building it to their requirements and standards including all associated documentation, thorough environmental and electrical testing and handling the full logistics supply chain.
Marl's LED specialists in Ulverston offer a full service including custom led driver design and can build on a bespoke customer production line. They can deliver assemblies including metal clad PCBs, high grade wiring looms and IP sealed connector technology together with custom designed vibration proof fasteners if required. It offers laser cutting facilities, can produce formed or welded metal parts, bespoke aluminium extrusions
as well as custom moulded parts. Assemblies can be finished using wet paint, powder coating, or anodising processes, and can be laser etched if required. Sequential part serialisation is also available. Marl is accredited to ISO9001 and has the NATO Cage Code of U3054.
