Energetiq Technology, Inc have announced an addition to its Laser-Driven Light Source (LDLS™) product family: the EQ-99FC
The EQ-99FC Laser-Driven Light Source uses an integrated high performance ellipsoidal collector to deliver ultra-high brightness UV-VIS-NIR light to a standard SMA fiber coupling. The new product, along with the entire Energetiq LDLS product family, will be on display at SPIE Photonics West and BiOS, January 22-27, 2011.

Like all the LDLS products, the EQ-99FC light source can provide ultrahigh brightness from 170nm to 2100nm. This ability to cover such a broad spectrum makes it an economical and higher performance alternative to using traditional Xenon-arc or Deuterium lamps. What makes the EQ-99FC unique is its integrated high-efficiency collection optic that delivers maximum brightness, while additionally providing greater ease of use. The custom ellipsoidal collector ensures that the light brightness and power stability are maintained across the broad spectrum, and efficiently coupled into small diameter optical fibers.

Electrodeless in operation, Energetiq’s laser-driven technology in the EQ-99FC provides ultra-long lamp life – greater than ten times the lifetime of traditional electrode-driven lamps.
