RTK Instruments has developed a new range of LED Beacons, which provide powerful visual alarm signals in both hazardous and safe areas.
The DA135 Beacon replaces the earlier DA134 Xenon Beacon and is far brighter, has greater functionality and at a significantly lower price. The unit is ATEX certified for use in Zone 0, 1 or 2 hazardous areas and is available in five super-bright colours. The ruggedised and encapsulated enclosure makes this an ideal choice for the harsh environments found offshore and in the chemical and petrochemical industry.

The standard unit has a unique method of allowing the user to change the flash rate between single, double or triple flash by triggering control inputs. Customers can then use the same unit to indicate different site problems. A dual colour version is also available where each colour can be triggered separately from the control inputs. This is an ideal way of warning an operator that a situation is becoming more critical.
All control inputs are fully isolated and certified as equivalent to “simple apparatus” making system design very straight forward.

The DA135 can be operated alone or in conjunction with an intrinsically safe Sounder and pushbutton to create a fully featured single point Alarm Annunciator. The user can configure the Beacon to latch-in alarms and allow the operator to go through the normal Acknowledge and Reset functions. Because of the high efficiency of the LED it is possible to feed both the Beacon and associated Sounder from a single Barrier or Isolator.

As manufacturers of a full range of certified interface devices RTK Instruments can recommend a suitable unit to work safely and reliably with the Beacon.

RTK Instruments is a leading supplier of Alarm Annunciators and Systems, Event Recorders and Hazardous Area Notification equipment. RTK can also offer design, supply and commissioning of custom systems through their Engineering Solutions service.
