LASER COMPONENTS would like to announce two new single photon counting modules: COUNT NIR and COUNT Q, both optimised for longer wavelengths.
COUNT NIR
The COUNT NIR features an APD with enhanced detection efficiency around 810nm. This wavelength plays an important role in quantum cryptography applications. The outstanding performance of the various photon counting modules produced to date is based on a proprietary APD design that was developed by the LASER COMPONENTS Detector Group in Arizona.

COUNT Q
A highlight is the COUNT Q. Many customers work at wavelengths that silicon does not cover any more. The COUNT Q features an integrated InGaAs APD and extends beyond the silicon spectral range, from 900nm to 1600nm. For best performance, the APD is thermoelectrically cooled. Just like the silicon APD-based COUNT modules, the focus during the development of the COUNT Q has been on high detection efficiency and low dark current.
