Wilful Group appointed to drive sustainability and innovation initiatives
The Wilful Group, the B Corp communications agency for sustainable innovators and positive changemakers, has added two significant clients, Royal Academy of Engineering (the Academy) and Recycle It Global (RIG), to its roster.
After competitive pitches, Wilful was selected to lead high-profile PR and communications initiatives aligned with each organisation’s vision for innovation and sustainable development.
Royal Academy of Engineering – Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation
Wilful has secured a year-long contract with the Academy to support the prestigious Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation after working together previously on the Africa Grants programme and with Engineering X. Known for recognising and amplifying trailblazing African innovators, the Africa Prize, now in its 11th year, celebrates and supports those working to solve critical challenges on the continent. Wilful’s creative approach and proven track record of working with clients across Africa helped secure this appointment.
Wilful’s communications strategy will highlight the outstanding achievements of this year’s Africa Prize finalists and the Academy’s enduring commitment to alumni and past participants.
Recycle It Global (RIG)
Recycle It Global (RIG), a pioneering engineering company at the forefront of technological innovation in solid and fluid waste management selected Wilful to support a new initiative: the launch of a new state-of-the-art recycling facility in Plymouth. This partnership aims to raise awareness of RIG Plymouth, attracting new customers, driving investment and engaging local communities.
The campaign targets local and national, trade and industry media through a strategic mix of traditional PR and social media engagement.
Discussing the partnership Philippa Sherrell, Head of Marketing at Recycle it Global (RIG), said: "We're very impressed with the work the team has done so far around our acquisition of Pomphlett Jetty in Plymouth. Early in our partnership, they secured BBC interviews on local TV and radio. Right from the start, they grasped the nuances of our messaging, and we’ve been very pleased with the team's efforts in finding the news hooks that will resonate with the stakeholders we're targeting."
Nikki Francis-Jones, Managing Director at The Wilful Group, said: “It’s an honour to collaborate with the Royal Academy of Engineering for the third time and to embark on our first partnership with Recycle It Global. These new clients represent a meaningful opportunity to highlight the remarkable accomplishments of Africa’s leading engineering talent and to contribute to the evolution of waste recycling standards respectively. At Wilful, we are passionate about championing innovation that can drive positive change.”
These new partnerships affirm The Wilful Group’s growing reputation for delivering impactful PR campaigns in sustainable innovation across sectors as diverse as finance and infrastructure, talent and education, tech and FMCG.
