Nihon Superior and the University of Queensland have long been partners in research directed at understanding how lead-free solders behave with a view to optimizing their performance for users. As part of this relationship Nihon Superior has regularly supplied flux-cored solder wire to the laboratory of the University’s School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering for use by students and researchers in the assembly of the electronic circuits they have designed.
In a video that he uploaded to YouTube one of the undergraduate students who regularly use this laboratory as part of their studies, Chris Rieger, has chosen to mention the Nihon Superior solder that he used to assemble a digital LED analogue clock that he designed. The solder used was in the form of fine-gauge “SN100C” tin-copper-nickel-germanium alloy lead-free solder wire with a “030” activated resin no-clean flux core.

This video enjoyed more than 200 views in its first 10 days on YouTube. Another video that Mr Rieger uploaded on a “levitating light bulb” that demonstrates wireless power transfer as well as magnetic levitation was viewed more than 350,000 times in its first 50 days on YouTube.
