YAGEO and KEMET

The main topic of discussion between West and Kubicek was YAGEO’s involvement with its subsidiary company, KEMET, and how they are working in within the power sector. Kubicek was eager to speak about not only what KEMET is offering in relation to the film side of the industry, but also the wider spectrum of its portfolio.

Through its time under the YAGEO Group, KEMET has oriented itself to focus on more power-oriented applications for its technology, this is where its portfolios on capacitors, electromechanical devices, electromagnetic compatibility solutions, and supercapacitors have stemmed.

In the words of Kubicek, KEMET’s market focus is one surrounding “renewable energy, green energy, electric charging, charging stations, and automotive electrifications.”

KEMET moving forward

“One thing that we have very high on our roadmap is we want to provide the market with a solution that gives them a full traceability of our products, which also plays a significant role when it comes to counterfeits,” says Kubicek.

KEMET is also working hard to achieve what Kubicek describes as “Full system-to-system integration” in the near future, making things much easier for its consumers as well as giving KEMET platforms much better expandability in the future.

The role of high service distribution

As a final note, Kubicek discussed the role of high-service distribution as a part of the whole system.

“High-service distribution is super critical for us. The journey always starts with picking the component, and do to that the component needs to be readily available,” explains Kubicek.

To achieve this, YAGEO and KEMET work closely with their distribution partners, such as Digi-Key, to make sure that the product pipeline runs smoothly all the way from launch to its final days on the market.
