Sono-Tek celebrates 50th anniversary

First founded in 1975 by Dr. Harvey L. Berger, Sono-Tek's journey began with the development of an ultrasonic spray nozzle to improve fuel efficiency during the US energy crisis; laying the foundation for the company's expertise in precision coating solutions.

Over the years, Sono-Tek has expanded its ultrasonic technology to serve diverse applications across sectors such as medical devices, electronics, and alternative energy. With thousands of its ultrasonic spray coating systems still in operation worldwide, Sono-Tek’s impact spans critical industries, offering precise, reliable and eco-friendly coating solutions.

As the technology evolved, the company evolved alongside it, creating automated, multi-axis robotic coating systems that meet the demands of modern manufacturing in industries such as solar and fuel cells, microelectronics and semiconductors.

The significant milestones for the company have included achieving ISO certification and an uplisting to the Nasdaq Exchange in 2021. Today, Sono-Tek operates worldwide, providing end-to-end installation, service and application support from its headquarters in New York.
