SC21 Award achieved by Intelliconnect Europe for a fifth year running

The award, which recognises business’ ongoing commitment to supply chain and manufacturing excellence, was presented to Gareth Phillips, Managing Director of Intelliconnect, by Kevin Craven, Chief Executive Officer ADS Group at the recent DSEI exhibition in London.

Phillips says, “Five years of the Silver Award is a testament to the hard work our teams have put in across all areas of the business. From relationship excellence to manufacturing excellence everyone in our company has been a part of our continuous improvement journey. We are committed to being innovators, long term partners to our customers and maintaining the highest standards of product quality while recognising the value of our team at every level by being accredited Living Wage employers”.

The board of ADS, the trade organisation for the Aerospace, Defence, Security and Space Industry Supply Chain Programme, makes this prestigious award, granted by the SC21, which is designed to accelerate the competitiveness of the industry by raising the performance of its supply chains.

The SC21 Board has offered their congratulations to the entire team at Intelliconnect for obtaining this important recognition award as part of their continuing supply chain excellence journey. The programme has also been endorsed as part of the Aerospace Growth Partnership (AGP’s) Competitiveness Charter and is nationally recognised.

Since its inception, the SC21 programme has had over 880 participating companies signed up to its principles and engaged in engaged in demonstrating their continuous performance improvement.
Phillips continues, “Defence, security and aviation are key markets for Intelliconnect and it’s very important for us to be positioned to compete to the best of our ability. Since achieving our first bronze award in 2016 we have maintained our focus on continuous improvement. The award is recognised throughout our major markets and assures our customers that supply chain excellence is one of our key goals.

Launched 17 years ago SC21 has grown into the largest Supply Chain Improvement programme in the UK Aerospace and Defence sector. The programme is endorsed by all major UK Aerospace and Defence companies. It is managed by ADS at a national and international working with SC21 participants, prime contractors, regions and regional associations, strategic partners, accredited practitioners, training partners, providers, assessors and ambassadors. Recognition can occur only after all of the SC21 required framework elements have been proved to meet the required criteria in terms of delivery, quality, sustainable improvement and the associated improvement frameworks including business and manufacturing excellence.

Meeting the requirements of the SC21 accreditation provides Intelliconnect with an important tool to manage and improve the company and has already had a positive effect on their business. SC21 provides a robust framework for operational improvements at minimal cost to the business by applying lean production principles and tools combined with a continuous improvement philosophy.
