Season 3 - Episode #8 - The future of semiconductor manufacturing
Today we will be speaking to Ryan Ervin, Director of Sales at Hardinge, a manufacturer and distributor of precision machine tools to a number of semiconductor companies around the world.
We will be discussing a number of trends in the industry, including ongoing efforts to create a smaller manufacturing footprint, scrap management and reduction, first pass yield improvement, and efforts to reduce plant down-time.
Hardinge has helped the industry dramatically reduce its manufacturing footprint, which has traditionally required large machinery. Some of the company’s recently introduced products have enabled a number of semiconductor manufacturers to reduce the size of their plants, helping to usher in a new era of smaller semiconductor fabs.
