Mouser signs Asahi Kasei Microdevices
Mouser Electronics has sealed a global distribution agreement with Asahi Kasei Microdevices (AKM), a supplier of advanced sensors and analogue/digital mixed-signal ICs.
The Chiyoda City, Tokyo-based company combines compound semiconductor technology mainly used for magnetic sensors with the ASIC/analogue circuit technology based on silicon semiconductors.
The new agreement gives design engineers access to sensors and audio chips for mobile, automotive, industrial, and consumer markets.
The Asahi Kasei Microdevices portfolio now available from Mouser includes the CZx coreless current sensor ICs. These devices feature creepage and clearance distances of 8mm or more and high accuracy. They support a wide current range and generate less heat.
The CZ3Ax current sensor ICs have two overcurrent detection circuits, and each overcurrent detection threshold can be adjusted from the outside.
The CZ37x current sensor ICs feature a built-in disturbance magnetic field suppression function that improves system efficiency and precise control in various applications.
Mouser also offers Asahi Kasei Microdevices’ AK5x audio analogue-to-digital converters and AK4x audio digital-to-analogue converters.
These devices implement VELVET SOUND technology, which maximises dynamics and ensures pure, unaltered audio data, prioritising the accurate capture and reproduction of the source material to achieve high performance and rich musicality.
The devices were designed specifically for the high-resolution digital audio era, making them ideal for applications such as AV receivers, set-top boxes, and car-entertainment systems.
Rounding out the Asahi Kasei Microdevices portfolio are infrared LED elements and infrared sensors for non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) type gas sensors. These co-dependent devices utilize epitaxial growth technology for semiconductor thin films.
This technology achieves emission wavelength control for the optimum gas absorption wavelength band and high-speed and high-output emission control. The compact design of these infrared LEDs and sensors contributes to the downsizing of gas sensor module design.
These devices are suitable for automotive CO2-sensing applications, HVAC, and flame detection.
