Mouser adds motor control devices to global linecard
Mouser Electronics has signed a global distribution agreement with Performance Motion Devices (PMD), a provider of innovative, high-performance ICs, boards and drive-based motion control solutions to OEMs around the globe.
Through the agreement, Mouser now distributes PMD's Magellan, Juno, ION, and ATLAS families of motor control devices.
The Magellan Family of motion control ICs provide advanced motion control for medical, scientific, automation, industrial, and robotic applications.
These ICs are offered in three series: The MC58000 Series positioning motion control ICs for brushless DC (BLDC), DC brush and step motors and MC55000 Series pulse and direction output ICs for step motors are both available in 1- through 4-axis packages. The MC58113 Series positioning motion control ICs feature integrated current control for BLDC, DC brush and step motors in a single-axis package.
Compact velocity and torque control ICs with full four-quadrant motion control, direct input quadrature encoder, profile generation, and advanced current control make up the Juno family.
The ICs provide advanced velocity and torque control for BLDC, DC brush, and step motors in medical, scientific, industrial, and robotic applications that need to minimize motor noise, vibration and power consumption.
Juno ICs are easy to deploy with embedded motion commands, on-board intelligence, and direct analogue and digital amplifier signal interfacing.
ION digital drives are compact, fully enclosed modules that provide high-performance motion control, network connectivity and power amplification.
They are built on the Magellan motion control IC, providing a powerful instruction set to control the motion application, monitor performance, and synchronise overall drive behaviour.
Suitable for medical, scientific, semiconductor, robotic, industrial and other automation applications, the ION drives are available in 500 W and 3000 W options.
ATLAS digital amplifiers are compact single-axis amplifiers that provide high-performance torque control for DC brush, BLDC, and step motors.
They use PMD's proprietary digital current control and switching technology for exceptional efficiency and quiet motor operation in a compact, solderable module.
The ATLAS family works seamlessly with Magellan motion control ICs and can also be used with dedicated FPGAs, digital signal processors, or general-purpose microprocessors.
