Mouser adds Breadboard Mates Micro-LCDs
Mouser Electronics has signed a new global distribution agreement with Breadboard Mates, a leading supplier of micro-LCD-displays for breadboard and electrical development projects.
Breadboard Mates’ Tiny Intelligent Modular Instrument (TIMI) hardware and Integrated Development Environment (IDE) software products are designed to replace and simulate component readouts and meters that demand extensive hardware resources for breadboard or electronic development projects.
Mouser is now stocking the latest BreadBoard Mates products, including the TIMI-96 display development module. The TIMI-96 incorporates hundreds of built-in widgets, allowing design engineers to streamline development projects using fewer components at lower cost. The TIMI-96 display development module is a 160 × 80, 0.96-inch TFT LCD module featuring a 4D Labs PIXXI-28 graphics processor for stand-alone, host-driven interfaced, PC-tethered, and educational applications.
The TED-96 display module is the OEM version of the TIMI-96 module, designed for product integration where the TIMI-96 may not be suitable. The TED-96 is a 0.96-inch TFT In-Plane Switching (IPS) LCD module also driven by the 4D Labs PIXXI-28 graphics processor. The module includes both castellated and through-hole pads at each end to allow for different mounting options.
Various interfaces arm the TED-96 with resources to be either a stand-alone controller, a host-driven secondary device, or a tethered instrument while being able to interface with and power external devices.
For larger displays, Mouser offers the BreadBoard Mates TIMI-130 — a unique breadboard-compatible display development module with a 1.3-inch TFT IPS LCD (40 × 240) display. The TIMI-130 features a unique MatesBus interface, which is simple to use in breadboard applications, adapters, or directly into products. The main TIMI-130 interface is a 3.3 V level asynchronous serial UART featuring three GPIOs that can be used as digital or analogue inputs, digital outputs, master I²C communication, or PWM audio output.
The TIMI-MB display development module provides a simple interface display solution for boards and modules that include MikroBUS sockets. The TIMI-MB module is a 0.96-inch TFT LCD with a five-pin programming header that programs its processor using the Mates Programmer, a selection switch that alternates between programming modes or connection to the MikroBUS host. The TIMI-MB module is a flexible design aid for demanding hardware resources for breadboard and electronic development projects.
