From Lizard Point to Liverpool, a Stourbridge-based family-run company has celebrated its second birthday by going from strength to strength with customers the length and breadth of the country.

StarkEV was started by local business owners and husband and wife team, Stuart and Lisa Starkey, in 2021, in the midst of the Covid pandemic, in a bid to make electric vehicle (EV) charging more accessible and affordable for businesses.

With the number of electric vehicles on the rise, especially among businesses trying to reduce their carbon footprint, StarkEV aims to help businesses future proof their premises in line with the Government’s plan to ban the sale of new petrol and diesel vehicles by 2030.

The couple, who also run Starkey Electrical, set up StarkEV after identifying a need for more EV charging stations to be installed both locally and nationwide.

StarkEV supplies and installs an extensive range of EV charging units, including its own StarkEV line of EV chargers.

Managing Director Stuart Starkey said: “We are proud to be celebrating our second anniversary. We have come a long way in two years, despite all the additional challenges we faced with the pandemic.

“We’re really excited to see what the future holds for StarkEV. We are committed to providing our customers with the best possible EV charging solutions, and we are confident that we will continue to grow and expand in the years to come.”
