dSPACE acquires interest in Berlin startup neurocat
dSPACE, provider of simulation and validation solutions for the development of networked, self-driving, and EVs, has shown interest in the Berlin startup neurocat. neurocat has experience in the validation of AI, with a focus on the robustness of AI applications.
The startup advises industrial enterprises on the safe and reliable use of AI, providing software for the automatic check and optimisation of AI applications.
While neurocat products and services mainly support the development of networked and autonomous systems in the automotive industry, they can also be used in other branches, such as medical, automation, and telecommunications technology, or the financial sector. By acquiring interests in the company, dSPACE strives to accelerate the market launch of the cloud-based ‘aidkit’ platform and use the solution to validate AI algorithms in the future.
“The key technology of neurocat validates the quality of AI applications, thereby building trust in AI. This is of utmost importance for dSPACE and our customers alike. This partial acquisition and new partnership therefore complements our wide range of solutions for simulation and validation, which increasingly relies on AI.
"We also share neurocat’s mission of supporting today’s and tomorrow’s technology and mobility pioneers in the development of networked and autonomous systems with our consulting services and Software solutions,” explained Martin Goetzeler, CEO of dSPACE.
“As a pioneer in AI robustness, we are now looking to accelerate our international growth and will benefit from the global dSPACE network,” said Stephan Hinze, founder of neurocat. Hinze, who headed the company as CEO until mid-2021, will receive the Vision Award 2021 on 28th October. The award, given out during the Medientage (Media Days) in Munich, acknowledges young and established companies and entrepreneurs alike for innovative and disruptive business ideas.
“dSPACE is the perfect partner to accompany our next development steps and help us grow. It contributes invaluable experience and resources to help shape our transformation from a consulting company to a provider of software as a service (SaaS),” added Florens Gressner, founder and new CEO of neurocat.
neurocat is a deep tech startup specialising in the quality assurance of AI applications. It provides corporate consulting services on the safe use of AI applications and is currently developing the cloud platform aidkit, a solution that automatically checks machine learning applications and produces recommendations for the optimisation of applications.
