Farnell Big Winter event promises prizes and fun
Farnell is inviting customers and supplier partners to its Big Winter Event celebration taking place on Thursday, 16 December at 12pm GMT.
Registration for the virtual event is free and Farnell will be making a £5 donation to the Hearty Foundation for every attendee in honour of the holiday season.
The event will begin with a short business update from Rob Rospedzihowski, Sales President EMEA at Farnell.
Event host and stand-up comedian Jim Williams will provide entertainment and introduce other guest speakers including Farnell customer and professional solo sailor Alberto Riva, who recently secured a podium place in the 2021 Mini-Transat regatta.
As part of the celebration event, all participants are invited to take part in a Christmas quiz with the chance to win great prizes including an Apple Watch 7, Apple iPad Mini, Moleskine Writing Set, portable projectors and more.

We are excited to host this event for our customers and supplier community to get together and share some festive goodwill. We welcome all who would like to join us, and in doing so, help raise money for a long-term charity partner of ours, the Hearty Foundation.”

The Hearty Foundation is a charitable organisation with the aim of reducing social inequalities by educating the future. The charity engages entrepreneurs and specialists across a variety of fields to help support young people in need, such as children from orphanages, children with disabilities and students from smaller towns. The Foundation provides training and equipment to enable young people to learn or work.
Jim Williams has developed a unique brand of comedy over 20 years of entertaining people all over the world. He has toured the United States and Europe as a mime, actor, clown and stand-up comedian. His physical comedy act Liquidmime has won top awards at comedy festivals and made several television appearances. Jim is also a professional medical clown, working for Czerwone Noski and its umbrella organisation Red Noses International. He makes regular visits to hospitals to bring joy to patients and health care staff. Born in the United States, Jim has now lived in Poland for nine years and performs in both Polish and English.
Alberto Riva is a highly skilled professional sailor currently ranking second in the Mini 6,50 class International Ranking. Alberto is also a qualified and enthusiastic engineer. His expertise includes on-board electronics and the research and development of marine electronics devices. Alberto was the on-board engineer for the Maserati Cat70 and Data Analyst of Azzurra TP 52. As a guest speaker at the Big Winter Event, Alberto will talk about his career and how he implements electronics designs into his sailing endeavours.
