New Products on Display at APEC 2017
Wide Terminal Thin Film Chip Resistors Feature 1 W Power Rating in Compact 0612 Case Size
For power electronics in industrial and automotive applications, Vishay Beyschlag MCW 0612 AT Professional devices deliver up to four times higher power dissipation when compared with standard resistors in the 1206 footprint. They significantly lower costs by replacing multiple resistors of the same size or larger devices with equivalent power ratings. Furthermore, the devices' wide terminal contact geometry allows for superior robustness against thermal cycling. With high temperature performance to +175°C, these AEC-Q200 qualified resistors offer TCR down to ± 25 ppm/°C and a resistance range from 10 Ω to 100 kΩ with tolerance to ± 0.5%.
Bi-Directional 1500 W PAR TVS Offer High Power Density to Save Board Space and Lower Costs
Offered in the eSMP SMPC (TO-277A) package with a low height of 1.1 mm, TPCxxCA series devices offer a 52% lower profile than TVS in the traditional SMC package while providing a 38% smaller footprint to reduce total volume by 70%. For high temperature stability in high reliability conditions, the devices' patented PAR construction allows for a temperature range of -65°C to +185°C.
Low Profile, High Current Inductors Feature Integrated E-Shields in Automotive and Commercial Grade Versions
The Vishay Dale Automotive Grade IHLE-2525CD-5A, IHLE-3232DD-5A, and IHLE-4040DD-5A and commercial IHLE-2525CD-51, IHLE-3232DD-51, and IHLE-4040DD-51 eliminate the need for separate board-level Faraday shielding. The devices contain the electric field associated with EMI in a tin-plated copper integrated shield, providing up to -20 dB of electric field reduction at 1 cm (above the center of the inductor) when the integrated shield is connected to ground.
Four-Terminal Snap-in Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors Reduce Component Counts, Lower Costs, and Increase Stability
For power supplies and industrial and home appliance inverters, Vishay BCcomponents 400 V and 450 V 299-PHL-4TSI series devices offer a high 105°C temperature capability and long useful life of 5000 h while still being able to withstand high ripple currents to 6.77 A. This allows designers to utilise fewer components to meet the requirements of applications connected to a three-phase mains.
Space-Saving IHLP Low Profile, High Current Inductor Offers High Temperature Performance for Automotive Applications
Available in the 1616 case size, the Vishay Dale AEC-Q200 qualified IHLP-1616BZ-5A combines a high operating temperature to +155°C with a low profile of 2 mm to save space in automotive applications. With a frequency range up to 2 MHz, the inductor is optimised for energy storage in DC/DC converters and high current filtering with excellent performance up to the SRF of the inductor.
Snap-in Power Aluminum Capacitors Offer Extended Useful Life
For solar PV inverters, industrial motor control, and power supplies, 500 V devices in the Vishay BCcomponents 159 PUL-SI series now offer a useful life of 5,000 hours at +105°C. Available in a variety of case sizes ranging from 22 mm x 25 mm to 35 mm x 60 mm, the capacitors feature rated voltages from 200 V to 500 V, high ripple current to 2.80 A, and maximum ESR down to 150 mΩ.
Fourth-Generation 600 V E Series Power MOSFET Lowers Conduction and Switching Losses, Increases Efficiency
For telecom, industrial, and enterprise power supply applications, the Vishay Siliconix n-channel SiHP065N60E slashes on-resistance by 30% compared with previous 600 V E Series MOSFETs while delivering 44% lower gate charge. This results in an industry-low gate charge times on-resistance figure of merit (FOM) of 2.8 Ω*nC, which is 25% lower than the closest competing MOSFET in the same class.
Synchronous Buck Regulator Simplifies Designs, Provides 95% Peak Efficiency
The 6 A SiC467 features integrated compensation to minimise the number of external components required, enabling simple, rugged, and flexible designs over a wide voltage range from 4.5 V to 60 V. The device delivers 72 W output power in a compact 5 mm by 5 mm package, while its 100 µA quiescent current enables light load efficiency > 80%.
Asymmetric Dual TrenchFET Gen IV Power MOSFET With Integrated Schottky Diode Saves Space and Increases Efficiency in Synchronous Buck Converters for Computing / Graphic Card Applications
To simplify designs and decrease component counts, the 30 V SiZF906DT combines a high side and low side MOSFET with a Schottky diode in the compact PowerPAIR 6 mm by 5 mm package. Minimising conduction and power losses for higher efficiency, the device's low side Channel 2 SkyFET MOSFET features on-resistance down to 1.17 mΩ at 10 V, while the high side Channel 1 MOSFET features values down to 3.8 mΩ at 10 V.
