The Compamed trade fair, taking place this week in Dusseldorf, Germany, will see TE Connectivity (TE) feature a digital tour of the body that will detail some of the latest patient monitoring innovations in the medical industry using TE’s advanced technologies.

Electronic systems and devices in medical equipment have become more complex, enabling treatment and care options that were not possible before. The interactive display at the TE Sensor Solutions (TESS) exhibit (Hall 8b Stand J27) will showcase many of the different ways devices, such as connectors, sensors, catheters and tubing, are helping to improve patient health, provide better treatment insights and shorten recovery times.

Specific medical sensing solutions on display include piezo film used to monitor vital signs such as heart rhythm, photo optic sensors for pulse oximetry to measure oxygen saturation and pulse, as well as ultrasonic sensors to detect air bubbles and medication levels during infusion.

TE’s exhibit will also include medical connector technologies, such as sheaths, catheters and tubing, as well as the recently acquired Creganna Medical product portfolio, designed and manufactured for minimally invasive delivery and including access devices serving medical devices of OEMs.

Laurent Martel of TE commented: “What sensors enable in medical applications has taken diagnostics and treatment leaps and bounds ahead in just a few short years. We’re excited for the opportunity to share some of these innovations at the show and help drive even more medical advancements. TE’s breadth and depth of sensor technology and engineering prowess have helped reinforce our commitment to several growth markets, of which medical is one, to help improve safety, performance and environmental standards.”
