Aaronia says it will be presenting groundbreaking solutions for spectrum analysis and EMC measurements at this year's EMC in Shanghai (October 23-25).

The company will be showcasing the latest SPECTRAN V6 devices with waveguide technology. In addition, the first prototypes of innovative PC boards from Aaronia will be on display.

State-of-the-art USB real-time spectrum analyzer solutions for a wide range of applications will be on display. The SPECTRAN V6 Xplorer enables measurements up to 140GHz and still offers the advantages of low-cost USB devices.

Waveguide technology

When measuring millimeter waves, which are typically used in satellite communication, radar or wireless networks, conventional electrical cables no longer work efficiently. They can distort the signal and usually cause excessive losses.

“To meet these new requirements,” explains Thorsten Chmielus, CEO of Aaronia AG, ”we have developed the new SPECTRAN® V6 generation with waveguide technology. The devices combine the best of several worlds: The speed and flexibility of USB real-time spectrum analyzers combined with exceptionally high bandwidths, sweep speeds and distortion-free transmission technology. In addition, there is a modular concept that allows each customer to configure their SPECTRAN® V6 to suit their needs.”

Aaronia also has the SPECTRAN V6 5G specially designed for measurements in the mobile communications environment. The device also supports the WiGig 45 GHz (802.11aj) and 60 GHz (802.11ad/aj/ay) profiles, which are now included in the latest version of the RTSA Suite PRO.

High-end PC boards

Even with standard computers, very efficient processing of IQ data is possible using the Aaronia real-time spectrum analyzer in conjunction with the RTSA-Suite PRO. But the demands on bandwidth and processing speed are increasing.

“We are constantly on the lookout for computer systems that meet our requirements in terms of speed, storage capacity and interfaces,” explains Chmielus. “Accordingly, we have decided to develop the necessary hardware ourselves and are pleased to be able to present the first results for the first time now”.

The PC boards based on the latest Intel or AMD processors are true I/O all-rounders and allow, for example, the simultaneous use of 4 SPECTRAN V6 ECO analyzers (4 x USB PD).
