April’s Cloud Computing World Expo will see HUBER+SUHNER showcase the building blocks required to build modern data centres. The Switzerland-based company will exhibit an array of the components needed to create a future-proof data centre at the Paris show, including its packing density, fibre management and cable routing.

By occupying as little space as possible with passive equipment, HUBER+SUHNER helps its customers to deploy more means of generating revenue in their data centres. “Our fibre systems are designed for optimum installation and handling speed. By reducing the space needed and the time required for moves, additions and changes to the data centre, we can contribute to a much lower total cost of ownership,” said Oliver Baumgartner, Marcom Manager FMS at HUBER+SUHNER. “We also use logical fibre routing components and highly visible port identification to make sure changes are made accurately every time.”

Future-proofing of data centres is becoming essential. At the show HUBER+SUHNER will advise that users upgrade to fibre management systems that are designed to accommodate a quick, simple and inevitable upgrade path from 10G serial to 40G and 100G parallel optics.

More traffic and an ever-increasing need for capacity is sure to mean more cabling and, in-turn, a more challenging environment for the cooling apparatus that is required to maintain operability and reduce down-time.

“Our primary objective when developing our products is to make them completely reliable over their serviceable lifetimes,” said Baumgartner. “What we are showcasing at Cloud Computing World Expo are the building blocks that will assist companies in future-proofing their data centres to stay ahead of the curve in a world moving ever closer towards the cloud and software-based networks.”
