Seminar focuses on reducing the costs of PCB manufacturing
SMART Group has announced that it is going to hold a seminar entitled 'Reliability and Standards in Real Life: An IPC and SMART Group Perspective'. This will focus on how the use of international standards can increase the reliability and quality of PCB manufacturing and assembly processes, leading to reduced costs and increased profits.
Key industry experts will present at the seminar. These include Lars Wallin, European Representative, IPC; Karthik Vijay,Technical Manager, Indium; Ashley Luxton, Applications Engineer, Graphic; Sue Knight,Technical Committee Member, STI and SMART Group; and Nigel Burtt,Technical Committee Member, Renishaw and SMART Group.
Topics that will be covered include: quality and reliability problems that can occur in PCBA; IPC standards and the production chain of a PCBA; standards and quality; the benefits of using internationally recognised standards for controlling maufacturing processes or working with a subcontractor; how CB suppliers and electronics manufacturing consumables use standards to guarantee quality; how quality and continuous improvement can be driven by adherence to standards.
This event is designed for anyone working in electronics manufacturing and design. Additionally, managers will benefit from a better understanding of the current standards issues in our industry. The costs for delegates include drinks, lunch and full access to all copies of the presentations immediately after the event.
'Reliability and Standards in Real Life: An IPC and SMART Group Perspective' will be held on Thursday, 11th September from 09.30 to 16.00 in the Sir Daniel Gooch Theatre of the STEAM - The Museum of the Great Western Railway on Fire Fly Avenue, Swindon, UK. It costs £85 for SMART Group members to attend the event and £175 for non-members.
