NVMf storage solutions showcased at Flash Memory Summit 2016

Paul Prince’s keynote at FMS 2016 entitled, 'NVMe over Fabric: Storage Solutions for Real-time Data Analytics', focussed on NVMf technology and includes a brief background on the newly released specification, market opportunities, performance and latency advantages (over iSCSI and FC SAN solutions), currently available solutions, and next gen capabilities. The keynote was delivered on Thursday, August 11^th in the Grand Ballroom.

Mangstor’s in-booth presentations focused on advanced NVMf capabilities supported within NX-series arrays. This included presentations on MySQL/OnLine Transactional Processing (OLTP) applications, burst buffer applications for various High Performance Computing (HPC) workloads and new Windows Storage Server applications. NX-series Storage Arrays enable IT managers to dynamically provision flash storage locally or remotely and manage those resources centrally. These performance-optimised arrays provide an RDMA clustered scale-out architecture, that delivers dramatically lower latency and higher IOPS performance than traditional iSCSI and FC SAN solutions.

The NX6320 Storage Array was demonstrated live in IT Brand Pulse’s NVMe SolutionsFest Lab at the Santa Clara Convention Center, it provided FMS attendees the opportunity to see NVMe products running live under a series of FIO test suites. The NX6320 array, using Mellanox ConnectX-4 100Gb/s Network Interface Cards (NICs) delivers leading bandwidth and IOPS at extremely low and consistent latencies and was rated as ‘the best performance in shared storage’ by StorageReview.com.
