NEW 2014 competition seeks best UK hand soldering technician

With bragging rights and prizes to be won, the IPC Hand Soldering Competition at National Electronics Week 2014 aims to add excitement to the 2014 event. The competition will seek to find the best hand soldering technician in the United Kingdom, with the first place winner also earning the chance to compete at the IPC World Championship at IPC APEX EXPO  2015, in San Diego, California.

There are currently 17 competitor registered to vie for the prize and applications will be accepted until the competition begins. If anyone is interested in participating, there are a few places left. Please contact the IPC European Representative Lars Wallin at LarsWallin(at)ipc.org. Registrations will also be accepted on site during the exhibition. Please go to booth E10 and contact Lars Wallin. 

The schedule for the competition will run across all three days of the show at the following times:

Tuesday April 8 at 1100AM and 0100PM.

Wednesday April 9 at 1100AM and 0100PM.

Thursday April 10 at 1100AM.

The three judges for the competition, who are experts in their fields, are:

Barry Morris, ART.

Jacqueline Mellar, TRW College Road.

Mal Maitland, TRW Peterlee.
