NEPCON China post-show success

NEPCON China 2015, organised by Reed Exhibitions and CCPIT, took place at the Shanghai Expo Center from 21st to 23rd April 2015. The three-day event was a success, bringing together nearly 22,000 trade visitors and high quality buyers, as well as 450 leading brand names from 22 countries and regions worldwide.

The event featured an enticing range of seminars covering topics as varied as IOV, printed electronics, new materials application, mobile telecommunications, smart factories and smart wearables. The side activities also provided opportunities for in-depth exchange. Industry practitioners shared new technologies and solutions, which helped to tap into the industry potential and stimulate growth.

NEPCON brought together a large number of trade visitors. Initial statistics show that the three-day event attracted nearly 22,000 visitors from across China, 5% more than in 2014. Most notably, the number of TAP visitors rose from 438 to 1,066, an increase of 143.4%. This is an indication of high-end buyers’ huge interest in the event, as well as their recognition of the service quality at the show. The many decision makers from OEMs and manufacturing service providers onsite were delighted by the business opportunities offered.

Industry leaders like ASM, Europlacer, Fuji Machine, Mycronic, Panasonic, Samsung Techwin, Tokyo Juki, WKK and Yamaha all featured their leading precision technologies and introduced visitors to the world’s best electronics manufacturing solutions.

Many new companies showcased and demonstrated their leading products and solutions this year. These included GSK, LARGE, MOJE, TUJIU Commerce and Robo-Technik. The newcomers brought cutting-edge products that fully demonstrated the efficiency of advanced technologies. Taking into account the combined strengths of existing and new exhibitors, the huge promise of China's electronics manufacturing industry encouraged optimism among industry practitioners.

2015 marks the 30th anniversary of the introduction of SMT to China. To celebrate these milestones and tell the SMT success story to more people, NEPCON held two commemorative events. The organisers ran a picture show that illustrated 30 years of development in electronics manufacturing industry in China, as well as the growth of the NEPCON China event.

A commemorative gala was held for TAP members and long-time exhibitors. The reception was a high-end platform for networking and exchange, bringing together industry elites from associations and companies. In this informal setting, people shared their thoughts on sustainable development in Chinese electronics manufacturing. Over a glass of wine, guests discussed the serious mission of Chinese industry development.

They explored industry trends as well as healthy development paths. The gala also provided a golden opportunity for networking and expanding business leads. Guests also have the chance to broaden their perspectives, which will help them to amplify their voices in discussions about the future of the market.

To expand business opportunities for participants to maximise their ROI, the organisers launched TAP business matching services. Huge business opportunities were created and the TAP team facilitated the achievement of win-win results through pre-event communication and in-event consultation that provided fantastic business leads for exhibitors.

The TAP team scored big at the event. Through their energetic pre-show communication, they completed 625 business match-ups. Altogether 132 exhibitors benefited from the service. Onsite, the TAP team completed a further 109 business matches. Through post-meeting follow-up, deals worth a total value of ¥300m are expected to be generated.
