Meet Fairphone to experience the 'world’s first' modular phone
Social enterprise Fairphone has announced its plans to attend the upcoming Mobile World Congress from 22nd to 25th February in Barcelona, Spain. This event provides an excellent opportunity for the press and representatives from the consumer electronics industry to see the modular Fairphone 2 firsthand and discuss new innovations and initiatives that can facilitate the development of more responsible devices.
The Fairphone 2 was launched mid last year with a pre-sales campaign and the first phones were shipped to buyers in December 2015. The latest Fairphone aims to shake up the industry and change how people interact with their devices. Its groundbreaking architecture and design make it the very first modular phone to hit the market.
This unique design approach extends the life of the phone by focusing on repairability, while at the same time increasing Fairphone’s influence over partners and practices within its supply chain. One recent example of the benefits of supplier collaboration is the creation of the first-ever Fairtrade gold supply chain within the electronics industry.
As one of the most important events in the industry, Mobile World Congress offers Fairphone the suitable platform to uncover the latest developments, connect to influencers, showcase the Fairphone 2 and motivate the rest of the industry to strive for fairer, more ethical standards. Because Fairphone’s mission is to change the way products are made, it is especially interested in exploring potential partnerships with individuals, organisations and suppliers who are developing solutions with greater consideration for people and the environment.
A selection of Fairphone team members will be present for the duration of the conference. Those interested in meeting with Fairphone, having an exclusive demo of the Fairphone 2 or scheduling an interview with CTO Olivier Hebert are invited to contact Fairphone directly prior to the event.
