The European Meeting of the WPC is being organised by Würth Elektronik eiSos from 22nd-25th August at the Hotel Hilton Munich City and the Wireless Power Consortium will play a key role in the "Wireless Power Trade Show and Seminar" on August 25th.

CTO Alexander Gerfer is the keynote speaker for the seminar section and Global Business Development Manager Jörg Hantschel will speak at the Qi Developer Forum on system integration.

Over 144m wireless charging receivers were sold last year, and this year it is expected to be 259m. The Qi standard has been developed so that these devices can use the same charging stations. This is being developed further by the 235 firms that are permanent members of the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC).

The WPC meets five or six times a year in a range of global locations to discuss software and system integration issues in hardware design. At the same time, new products and applications are presented here, and the firms developing them are addressed. The focus in Munich is on new Qi applications in industry, medicine and the household. The ‘Wireless Power Trade Show and Seminar’ is open to the public and provides a unique opportunity to learn everything about wireless power first hand.

The host of the meeting Munich is Würth Elektronik eiSos. This specialist in electronic components will take part in the exhibition with a large program at the same time. With its electronic components – more than 42 different coils alone, the German company is the manufacturer with the widest range of components for wireless charging.
