Omnitek has chosen the 12G-SDI chipset from M/A-COM Technology Solutions (MACOM) for its analyser, generator and converter toolset, enabling users to test their latest 4K60p equipment using a single cable. The MACOM products, as well as the OmniTek ULTRA 4K Tool Box have been on parade at IBC 2014 ni Amsterdam.

“Test and measurement equipment is an important part of the ecosystem as we accelerate the transition to higher resolution 4K60p video. We are thrilled to be part of the latest offering from OmniTek , which will help enable the migration to 12G-SDI for the next generation of broadcast video equipment,” said Ryan Latchman, VP of Strategic Marketing and Applications Engineering, High Performance Analog, MACOM.

“Building on our heritage in the professional video market, we have added 12G-SDI support to our ULTRA 4K Tool Box. This allows our customers to test all SDI standards released and planned from SD-SDI up to 12G-SDI,” said David Ackroyd, Business Development Director, OmniTek. “We needed a solution which was multi-rate, easy to use, and best-in-class for our customers. This is why our interface employs MACOM’s 12G-SDI product offering.”

MACOM’s family of 12G-SDI products are currently shipping in volume.
