Taking place this year from 14th-16th September at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, LASER World of PHOTONICS INDIA is India’s only dedicated and leading trade fair for laser and optical technologies. The show alternates between Bengaluru and New Delhi each year to showcase the best of laser and optics technology. Running in its sixth annual year, the trade fair will also again host a number of knowledge-rich conferences for the attendees. The ‘Make in India’ policy has provided a major boost to manufacturing and various other sectors.

The need to enhance precision and speed in manufacturing is motivating users to start using laser and related technologies in order to save cost and improve efficiency. At LASER World of PHOTONICS INDIA, an increase in the number of visitors and exhibitors indicates that laser and optical technologies are vital as numerous industries are willing to optimise their production and processes by incorporating affordable and tailor-made laser and optical systems.

The trade fair has received accolades from the industry since its inception. One of the key participants, Indrajit Rana, National Sales Manager Laser Division, TRUMPF India said: “LASER World of PHOTONICS INDIA has always exceeded our expectations and gave us a perfect platform to showcase our technologies. We meet the right buyers for our products here.”

Nitesh Dhoot from Tatanagar Steel Products, one of the past buyers, shared his experience: “We found many affordable international and domestic technologies which we want to incorporate in order to improve our manufacturing automation process. LASER World of PHOTONICS INDIA is a perfect marketplace to find new technologies.”

New launch: Additive Manufacturing Insight
In a new launch, Messe München India will link up in 2017 with CNT Expositions and Services to bring new insights in additive manufacturing technology to India’s manufacturing industry. They will jointly organise the B2B oriented event ‘Additive Manufacturing Insight’ (AMI), an international conference and pavilion on additive manufacturing technology where attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of 3D printing and the latest technological advances in 3D printers and their application for the Indian market.

Lasers are the central tool in 3D printing, which is on the point of industrial production. Reason enough to give each of these two areas of innovation their own special conference at LASER World of PHOTONICS INDIA.

On this occasion, Bhupinder Singh, CEO of Messe München India, said: “We are confident that additive manufacturing is a futuristic market and will grow enormously. We are delighted to partner with CNT Expositions and are hopeful of a positive outcome from this collaboration.”

Aditya Chandavarkar, Partner at CNT Expositions and Services, added: "Additive manufacturing is proving to be a great enabling technology for various industries with major impacts seen in the automotive, aerospace and medical sectors. We at CNT are happy to collaborate with Messe München India to create Additive Manufacturing Insight (AMI). In conjunction with LASER World of PHOTONICS INDIA, AMI will bring together technology leaders, key users and practitioners of additive manufacturing to create an interactive ecosystem for the facilitation of business in India."

According to Wohlers Report 2016, manufacturing amounts to $12.8 trillion of the global economy while at $5.2bn (in 2015) additive manufacturing represented about 0.041%. If additive manufacturing grows to capture just five percent of this global market as predicted by 3D printing experts around the world, it would become a $640bn industry. The market for 3D printer prototyping and materials in India is projected to reach over $62m by 2022.

Focused Pavilions: Machine Vision, Laser Safety, Robotics & Automation
In addition to the trade fair and the conferences, LASER World of PHOTONICS INDIA contains comprehensive special exhibition areas where the latest developments and applications in laser technology can be experienced. The Machine Vision Pavilion will again target industrial laser processing - one of the main focus topics of LASER World of PHOTONICS INDIA. Another highlight of the supporting programme will be the Laser Safety Forum covering all aspects of laser safety practice and hazard control. For the first time ever, LASER World of PHOTONICS INDIA will also host a Robotics & Automation Pavilion in order to connect two of the most important technologies of the 21st century with technologies based on light as a source. This helps traditional manufacturing industries to break through the bottleneck on its path to smart manufacturing. The Robotics & Automation Pavilion addresses a wide range of industries such as automotive, aerospace, rail transport and home applications.
