Low-profile SOM takes centre stage at EDS
The PumaNova low-profile SOM (system on module) with direct TFT connection and an integrated backlight converter will be the centrepiece of ITRON (UK)’s stand at EDS. It also features a 454MHz iMX287 processor with extensive RAM memory. Offering up to 14 serial interfaces with up to 50 I/O ports which include USB device and USB OTG host, RS232, RS485, 12C, SPDIF, 2xSPI, 2xAsync, 2xCAN and Audio 12S bus, the module also has 7 analogue inputs and 7 PWM outputs available, in addition, to providing LinuxOS and iDevOS support.
Also to be exhibited at the EDS exhibition in Coventry (October 21-22), the company’s Metallised Projective Capacitive Touch (MCPT), allows OEMs to feature robust front-panel design that is straight forward to implement without any need for bonding or setup.
Users of MPCT can wear gloves made from nitrile through to leather without compromising its effectiveness and it can also be used in conditions of humidity or where water splash is prevalent within a wide operational temperature range.
