The IOT Solutions World Congress (IOTSWC), recognised as the premier international gathering for industrial transformation through disruptive technologies, is set to display the most recent progress and trends in the domain.

Scheduled from the 21-23rd May, the Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue will welcome over 400 exhibitors and 250 specialists, positioning itself as the nucleus of modernisation within the manufacturing industry.

This year's eighth instalment will organise its 125 sessions around four pivotal challenges: technology-enabled transformation, climate change and sustainability, regulations and standards, and security and cybersecurity. The discussions will explore solutions in various technologies, including the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twins, Edge Computing, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, 5G connectivity, Renewable Energy, Cloud Computing, Big Data Analytics, and Process Robotics.

Curated by the International Society of Automation (ISA), the conference will feature prominent experts such as Elisa Rönkä, Global Director of SaaS Sales for Digital Buildings at Siemens; Lucy Han, Executive Vice President of Building and Home Automation Solutions at ABB; Megan Samford, Director of Product Safety at Schneider Electric; Madhu Pai, Technical Director of Global Partner Manufacturing at Amazon Web Services; Soloman Almadi, Senior Engineering Consultant at Saudi Aramco; and Didem Ün Ates, Operational Advisor in Artificial Intelligence at Goldman Sachs.

Marc Tarragó, Director of the IOTSWC, remarked: "Our event brings together the entire technological ecosystem at a global level so that the industry can take advantage of the power of technology with the aim of being able to overcome its greatest challenges."

The exhibition space will host more than 400 companies offering transformative solutions, including ABB, Digicet, Emnify, Faircom, KNX, iot squared, ST Microelectronics, and Txone. The IOTSWC will also feature dedicated areas for the semiconductor sector, a Testbed Zone, a Startups Pavilion, the Women and Diversity in Industry space, and the Garden, the event’s networking hub, all designed with sustainability and circularity in mind, using recycled and reusable materials.

Statista reports indicate a consistent growth in the Internet of Things, with 16.7 billion connected devices globally in 2023 and an anticipated increase to 19.2 billion by 2024.

The 2024 edition of the IOTSWC will coincide with the fourth edition of the Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress, an annual event held in collaboration with the Government of Catalonia. The congress aims to promote cybersecurity awareness across all sectors.
