IOT Solutions World Congress to be held 10th-12th May 2022
The IOT Solutions World Congress (IOTSWC), the event that showcases game-changing solutions and technologies that are disrupting and transforming industries and enterprises, organised by Fira de Barcelona and the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC), will be held from 10th to 12th May 2022 at the Gran Via venue.
This date change, endorsed by the main technology solution providers represented on the Advisory Board, aims to guarantee the event’s high international attendance as well as boost its offer and participation. With the same objective in mind and to increase synergies, the Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress, co-organised with the Catalan Government, will also change dates, together with the IOTSWC.
With a strong international positioning of more than 70% of its exhibitors and visitors coming from outside Spain, the next IOTSWC event, which had been scheduled to be held this October, will, next year, bring together the main global players involved in the digital transformation of companies and promote the exchange of ideas, experiences and success stories on the benefits for the end-user of the application of technologies based on IoT, 5G, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Quantum Computing, robotics and Digital Twins (DT), among others.
Director of the IOTSWC, Roger Bou, said: “With these new dates, we will organise a powerful event with global participation, at a time when the economic and social situation is expected to be more favorable and international mobility is more normalised, which will mean greater business opportunities for participating companies and professionals.”
In the same vein, the Executive Director of the Industrial Internet Consortium, Dr. Richard Soley, emphasised: “The importance, in the current context, of organising the best IOTSWC to help industries face the post-pandemic situation and guide companies to adopt emerging technologies that are already transforming our world.” Soley also highlights the focus of the event: “On IoT game-changers, business and technology experts who are creating a powerful competitive advantage with these technologies and who will share their experiences with the aim of accelerating knowledge and their implementation in multiple industries and business models.”
At its congress, IOTWSC 2022 will address the main challenges that companies face when innovating through five core themes: Security, Connectivity, Business Optimisation, Intelligence and Customer Experience. The event will also include an extensive trade exhibition with the participation of leading IT companies, software platform developers, cyber security companies, service and telecommunications providers, industrial automation firms, consulting firms, hardware manufacturers, technology and R&D centres, incubators, startup companies, associations and organisations through their global headquarters.
Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress
The Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress, an annual event co-organised with the Catalan Government, will also be held on the same dates as the IOTSWC. The event brings together the main cyber security agents and experts and aims to analyse the current challenges in this field, defining patterns to protect against cyber attacks at a sectoral level, and disseminating real solutions, tools, and good practices to extend the culture of cyber security in all types of companies, regardless of their size or activity sector.
In its third edition, this congress will be held in parallel to the IOTSWC, providing high added value content on cyber security risks and their impact on business for companies, SMEs, and professionals from all areas of industry and technology. Similarly, the sessions, which will involve the participation of international experts, will focus on three main thematic blocks: Threat landscape; Industrial Cybersecurity (IoT & 4.0), and Smart Mobility (5G & Smart car).
The event will also include an exhibition area for companies providing cyber security solutions and services, as well as spaces for professional networking, startup companies, and the projection of talent.
Empowering the IoT ecosystem
In the coming months, the IOTSWC will continue to energise and promote knowledge of new trends and applications within the industrial IoT ecosystem with its cycle of webinars and training activities organised together with the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC), the Catalan Government as well as companies and organisations.
The next scheduled session, on 22nd July, will bring together a panel of experts from firms such as SAS and Microsoft who will use case studies to explain how to proactively detect quality problems during manufacturing and after-sales to reduce the costs of defective products by using Artificial Intelligence and Data Analysis.
