A true “sensor to cloud” solution allowing users to more easily evaluate their product in the IoT world will be presented by Future Electronics at Embedded World in Nuremberg (March 14-16 2017). The Future Electronics IoT Solution Platform provides cloud storage, security and dashboard analytics designed to be an out of the box solution for fast and easy evaluation allowing embedded developers to tailor the cloud service to the specific needs of their application.

Worldwide support will be supplied through a Connectivity Solutions team of dedicated BDM’s and FAE’s to ensure expert technical support is at hand throughout the entire product development cycle from component level design to cloud and data insights.

The IoT Solutions Platform will be demonstrated at Embedded World via four cloud-connected smart street lights.

The street light heads, designed by Future Lighting Solutions, a specialist division of Future Electronics, are connected to an internet gateway via a LoRa low-power wireless area network.

They feature various smart functions including: pedestrian flow measurement and analysis, IP security cameras, gas and pollution detection and contactless parking payments.

Data and transactions processed by the street lights will be transmitted in real time to the cloud for storage and analysis, and the live results will be displayed via a dashboard on a 50” LCD screen on the Future Electronics stand.

Future Electronics will also display development boards supporting the ARM Cortex-M MCUs and various sensors used in each of the four street lights.

Visitors to Embedded World are invited to apply for free boards at the stand.

Paul Donaldson, EMEA Vertical Segments Director of Future Electronics, said: ‘Embedded device manufacturers are excited by the potential that the IoT offers, but many find it difficult to work with several other companies to implement a solution the customer can deploy. Future Electronics’ stand at Embedded World is intended to inspire developers to think big and explore the potential to radically enhance the value of every day products such as a street light. With the introduction of the Future IoT Solutions platform and the dedicated team we have put in place to support our customers, we are helping bring cloud connectivity a step closer from evaluate to full deployment into every day applications.’
