Young entrepreneurs aged 16 to 26 from the UK are set to converge on WeWork Moorgate on 26th and 27th September 2015 for a large-scale hackathon, centred on tackling big issues, from local to global. Each will be encouraged to develop teams and partnerships around shared concerns, while using their design and programming skills to build applications and explore solutions for the some of the world’s most pressing concerns. The hope is that partnerships forged will last beyond the event, creating a new class of companies centred on like-minded thinking and complementary technological skill-sets.

The event has over 100 applicants and is supported by sponsors including WeWork, Badoo, Pebble and Autodesk. Speakers and judges will be coming from AngelList, McKinsey & Co, Kano, Nutanix and more. WeWork is a global host of HackGenY having organised events in Silicon Valley, Tel Aviv, India and Jamaica. Future events are scheduled to take place in Madrid and London. WeWork is offering the winner of the hackathon up to a five-person office in WeWork Moorgate for a month.

“WeWork is thrilled to host HackGenY London, bringing together young entrepreneurs and innovators to build applications and brainstorm solutions to global issues, while collaborating and developing long-lasting relationships amongst one another. Fostering this community-building is our passion,” said Eugen Miropolski, General Manager, Europe.
