FCI to showcase I/O solutions at 2014 Flash Memory Summit
FCI has announced that it will showcase a range of IT storage connectors and high-speed I/O solutions at the Flash Memory Summit 2014. This event brings together manufacturers and designs for products within the consumer electronics, IT and industrial markets. Products the company will showcase include its 288-position DDR4 DIMM sockets, SAS and PCIe storage drive interface connectors and PCIe M.2 connector.
The DDR4 connectors are compatible with industry standard memory module types and feature a narrow latch option with an opening of 162-152mm. This minimises required board space and assists with heat dissipation. A special housing is also available allowing the trenches along the socket to be fitted with passive components.
The SAS/PCle connectors support up to 12Gb/s data transfers and conform to to SFF8639 specifications. They are designed to be backward compatible with 6Gb/s SAS and SATA connectors and are suitable for SSDs and Interposer card options.
The PCIe M.2 features a 0.5mm pitch, 67-pin configuration and varying height options. This offers angled insertion of PC boards and supports PCI Express 3.0, USB 3.0, and SATA 3.0 applications. The connector is PCI-SIG standard compliant, reduces PCB board space, offers a lower connector height option and operates at a higher data rate than a PCIe mini card. These features make it suitable for notebooks, tablets, desktops, and server applications.
FCI will also demonstrate the way in which some of its products work. These products include its 28G QSFP IO system and MSHD AOC. The company will show how the 28G QSFP IO system complies to the IBTA’s EDR standards, and how the MSHD AOC transmits PCIe Gen3 data over an optical connection to a Solid State Drive solution.
“We are excited to participate again in this year’s Flash Memory Summit. We have a wide array of products for the IT storage environment and the summit provides us a great opportunity to engage effectively in providing next generation solutions in this market,” said Martin Ng, Product Portfolio Director, FCI.
The Flash Memory Summit is on from 5th-7th August, and FCI is at Booth 422.
