Farnell Golf Day raises six figure sum for UK charity

The high service distributor and Epilepsy Research UK established a partnership in 2003 following the tragic loss to Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) of the son of Farnell’s CEO at the time.

Throughout this period, Farnell has hosted an annual Golf Day at courses in Leeds attended by partner organisations, suppliers and colleagues to raise funds for the charity, with the latest event held at Moor Allerton Golf Club contributing £13,805 to the grand total.

Participants in the 2022 Golf Day included representatives of Raspberry Pi, Sony and Schneider Electric amongst others who competed in groups of four across 18 holes, with the best two scores counted on each hole.

Each team contributed £500 to enter, while further funds were raised through the sponsorship of individual holes.

A charity raffle hosted after the tournament also offered premium prizes including a LG Smart TV, camera, Sony SRS-RA3000 Premium Wireless Speaker with Ambient Room-filling Sound and Sony XG500 X-Series Portable Wireless Speaker, with all funds raised from the sale of tickets going to charity.

The 19^th Farnell Golf Day will take place on 6^th July 2023.
