Experience three days of 3D printing in the Netherlands

Between 31st January and 2nd February 2017, an international 3D Printing event focused on medical 3D Printing and 3D Printing materials, including a two-day expo, will take place in two different locations in the Netherlands: MECC Maastricht and Brightlands Chemelot Campus in Sittard-Geleen. 

The conferences are both academic and innovative events bringing together brilliant minds and discoveries.

31st January-1st February, MECC Maastricht – 3D Printing Medical Expo
This is a two-day exhibition where the attendees can see real life solutions of the technologies discussed during the conferences, as well as many other innovative technologies. The list of exhibitors includes (inter)national market leaders and start-ups such as: 3D4Makers, 3DMedNet, 3D Systems, Cellink, Dental Printing Services, EnvisionTEC, GOM, Oceanz, Optics11, RENISHAW – Renishaw + Laser implants, SLM Solutions, WiDE, Z3DLAB, Z3DLabs.

31st January, MECC Maastricht: 3D Bioprinting Conference and 3D Dental Printing Conference:

  • 3D Bioprinting Conference - International specialists from University of Cambridge, iMakr, University of Pennsylvania, University of Zurich and many more will gather to discuss topics such as Patenting Bioartificial Organs; μPlasmaPrint; Biofabrication of hard and soft matrix for bone tissue regeneration.
  • 3D Dental Printing Conference - The conference will tackle not only emerging technologies and new materials, but also legal aspects and how 3D printing will change the dental practice. Speakers from Z3DLAB, University of Perugia, EOS, UZ Leuven, University of Nottingham, ACTA will talk about 3D Printed dental implants, dental 3D printing with biocompatible materials, 3D scanning systems, metal dental restorations and 3D virtual orthognathic surgery.

1st February, MECC Maastricht: 3D Medtech Printing Conference and 3D Medicine & Pharmaceutics Printing Conference

  • 3D Medtech Printing Conference – Speakers from Stratasys, ONVZ Health Insurance, Mobilab, Maastricht University Medical Centre will tackle topics such as 3D-Printing in Cardiovascular Surgery; Design and printing of orthopaedic devices; PRinting PERsonalized orthopaedic implantS and more.
  • 3D Medicine and Pharmaceutics Printing Conference - TEVA ratiopharm, FabRx, Åbo Akademi University, Dewallens & Partners Law Firm, University of Hertfordshire, University of Sheffield will talk about Potential of 3D printed medicines for paediatric and geriatric use; Legal issues around 3D printed drugs; Designing compartmental pharmaceutical products based on 3D printing; Emergence of 3D printed dosage forms.

1st February, Brightlands Chemelot Campus: 4D Printing & Meta Materials Conference
Topics such as New Origami (Foldable) Designs by Shape Memory Polymer Filament, Metamaterial Mechanisms, 4D printed scaffolds for regenerative medicine, Meta-biomaterials, 3D printed complex microoptics, will be approached by speakers from Keio University, Hasso Plattner Institute, Fraunhofer IWM, Maastricht University, FOM Institute AMOLF, University of the West of England, University of Wollongong.

2nd February, Brightlands Chemelot Campus: 3D Printing Materials Conference
The organisers claim that it will be a unique, innovative event, where renowned specialists from Shapeways, Ultimaker, Hewlett-Packard, Chemson Pacific/Australia, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, e-Xstream engineering and many more will gather to discuss 3D-printable PVC; Materials for fused filament fabrication; Materials for HP Multijet Fusion Technology; 3D Printing and the Circular market; How will digital manufacturing change the consumer market and what is needed?
