Electronic Specifier at EDS 2024

The curtain has officially closed on EDS 2024 in Coventry, an event that saw a fantastic amount of people gather to learn the latest in engineering design. From cutting-edge oscilloscopes and displays to the latest in designing AI data centres, there was plenty on offer!

At the Electronic Specifier booth, it was great to see so many familiar industry faces as well as plenty of new ones, where they could pick up the latest ESD Magazine Issue, talk to the team, and learn about the latest industry trends and news.

There was a wide array of people at the show this year, something that is always lovely to see. Whether a design engineer specifically, a curious member of the public, or even the occasional student, it was great to meet everyone at the show!

Around the show

There were plenty of talks to attend, sights to see, and chats to be had around EDS this year, which was certainly a busy one.

Chats with distributors such as Powell Electronics & Anglia offered some great insights into the current procurement and distribution landscape with key themes of lead times, miniaturisation, and production emerging.

Meanwhile, chats with the likes of TDK, STMicroelectronics, Pico Technology, Review Display Systems, Nuvonix, and more, spawned some great discussions on the latest news and products within the industry, such as TDK’s new dive into the AC power source and testing space.

There were also some great conferences/talks hosted at the show from across the industry, particular highlights included Amin Al-Habaibeh, Professor of Intelligent Engineering Systems at Nottingham Trent University, discussing how AI can be used to evaluate the carbon footprint of future and existing buildings, and Onomen Ojesebholo, Field Application Engineer of Nuvonix by Rebound, talk on how to curb the impact AI is having of data centre power consumption.
