CTX Thermal Solutions will present its broad portfolio of solutions for efficient thermal management at electronica in Munich from November 12 to 15, 2024.

The focus will be on liquid-cooled heat sinks for use in high-performance electronics. CTX will co-exhibit with the company’s partner PADA Engineering for the first time.

With 25% higher efficiency than any other cooling system, liquid-cooled heat sinks are the elite class among all cooling solutions. CTX Thermal Solutions will demonstrate at electronica in Munich how liquid-cooled heat sinks are used to create customised cooling concepts for high-performance electronic components that dissipate more heat than any other cooling system.

High-performance closed circuit cooling

Liquid-cooled heat sinks are used primarily in electronic systems with very high power density. Examples are battery management systems in electric vehicles and high-voltage inverters. The performance of passive or fan-based cooling solutions is often insufficient for these applications.

Liquid-cooled heat sinks are a type of active cooling solution. They have a closed cooling circuit: a coolant in the form of water, glycol, oil, or alcohol generally flows in copper tubes which are embedded in an aluminium heat sink plate. Liquid-cooled heat sinks also exist in a version without tubes. In this case, cooling channels are milled into the heat sinks – or complete heat sinks with channels are manufactured by means of extrusion.

CTX has all manufacturing processes for the production of heat sinks at its disposal. This allows the specialist for customised cooling solutions to choose the most suitable production process to create liquid-cooled heat sinks that are customised to the precise power requirements of the application in terms of material, shape and construction. High-performance cooling is thus possible even in the case of complex geometries. Visitors to the trade show in Munich can see for themselves the manufacturer’s product diversity, technical expertise and consulting competence.

New at the CTX booth in Munich: PADA Engineering

The Italian heat sink manufacturer PADA Engineering will make its debut as a co-exhibitor at the CTX booth. For about 25 years, the company has worked in close cooperation with CTX Thermal Solutions; in March, CTX acquired a share in the company. The goal of the two partners is to bring their cooperation to a new level.

PADA Engineering has its main office in Calcinelli, near the city of Rimini. The enterprise, which has been developing and manufacturing heat sinks for electronic devices for more than 40 years, is a market leader in the industry. By intensifying the cooperation, PADA will also expand the portfolio of products supplied to CTX. In addition to extruded profile and liquid-cooled heat sinks, for example, the Italian partner will also deliver skived-fin heat sinks to CTX.
