ASRock Rack introduces new servers at Computex 2024
ASRock Rack, one of the leading innovative server companies, launches a new product series powered by the Intel Xeon 6700-series processor with Efficient-cores (E-cores), offering a new class of efficiency with higher core density for cloud-scale workloads.
The new ASRock Rack server boards and systems are premiering at their booth L0818 at Computex.
Intel Xeon 6700-series processor with E-cores delivers up to 1.17x higher average* performance and 1.46x higher average* performance/watt across various workloads with Intel Xeon 6 with E-cores vs. 5th Gen Intel Xeon. With the launch of the new Intel processors, ASRock Rack releases its first wave of new products for web hosting, content delivery network (CDN), and use cases where power, space, and cooling are limited.
The first-hand products include a single-socket all-flash storage server, the 1U16E3S-SRF, with 16 E3.S (PCIe 5.0 x4) drive bays. Also new are the server boards GNRD8-2L2T and GNR2D16-2T that support single and dual sockets respectively, and both are equipped with multiple PCIe 5.0 or CXL 2.0 expansion slots for versatile mainstream applications.
Additionally, the new single-socket GNRD16QM3-NL and dual-socket GNR2D32G-2L+ motherboards feature many MCIOs for flexible expandability and unleash maximum DIMM capacity, allowing users to address applications focusing on performance per virtual machine. At Computex, ASRock Rack is also showcasing the 4U8G-GNR2 and 4UMGX-GNR2 GPU servers, capable of accommodating eight dual-slot accelerator cards.
With Intel Xeon 6 processors, Intel is executing a two-core strategy to address diverging customer needs and cover the broadest range of compute demand. All products in the ASRock Rack Intel Xeon 6 portfolio will also support the upcoming Intel Xeon 6 processor with Performance-cores (P-cores) for better AI performance and compute-intensive workloads.
"Intel has managed to provide a single unique platform to address the full spectrum of performance and efficiency needs of modern computing challenges. We are glad to introduce a variety of server motherboards and systems supporting Intel Xeon 6 processor at its launch date," said Hunter Chen, Senior Vice President at ASRock Rack. "As a server hardware vendor, we are committed to Intel’s vision and customers can expect more product lineups powered by Intel Xeon 6 processor from ASRock Rack.”
“Intel Xeon 6 gives a single platform with processors that range from high AI performance with P-cores to exceptional efficiency and scalability with E-cores. Moreover, E-cores and P-cores have a compatible architecture with easy-to-deploy shared hardware and software to match diverse business needs,” said Ryan Tabrah, Vice President and GM of Xeon E-Core Products at Intel. “It is exciting to see innovative partners like ASRock Rack showcasing the diversity of new platforms supporting Intel Xeon 6 processors at Computex, which cover a broad set of use cases deployed from cloud to edge. We are looking forward to their upcoming servers for Intel Xeon 6700 and future processor offerings.”
ASRock Rack (booth L0818) and Intel (booth J1403) both have presences at Computex Taipei from 4–7 June 2024.
