At EPE ’14 ECCE Europe, 26th to 28th August in Finland, GaN Systems will present its latest devices, including a series of normally-off 100V GaN transistors and a low inductance, thermally-efficient 650V transistor family. The power semiconductors target applications such as onboard battery charging, high-voltage DC/DC and AC/DC conversion, UPS, air-conditioning, home appliances, heavy-duty battery-operated power tools and E-bikes.

A range of solvent-free impregnating resins, developed to help manufacturers to meet tightening environmental and safety legislation, are to be showcased at CWIEME Chicago. The resins, developed by Axalta Coating Systems, are claimed to minimise the generation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and reduce emissions during the impregnation process to below 2%.

Established in 2011 by a consortium of industries, universities and RTOs, CSEM's FlexTiles project is celebrating its completion with a workshop on September 1st 2014 in Munich. The FlexTiles project saw members of the consortium join forces to develop a programmable heterogeneous many-core platform, which could be reconfigured on the fly to meet advanced processing needs. The workshop will present results and offer hands-on experience.
