Connector portfolio exhibited at electronica
FCI has announced that it will exhibit its current range of connectors and launch several recently-introduced products at electronica 2014. FCI's booth will feature product highlights from various product categories, namely board-to-board, wire-to-board, power, terminal blocks, high speed backplane, high speed I/O, storage and FFCC/FPC. Live demonstrations will also be conducted throughout the exhibition.
KEMET debut automotive capacitors at electronica
At B6.442 of electronica, KEMET will be both launching and showcasing capacitor families. The trade show takes place from 11th to 14th November 2014 in Munich.
electronica 2014 to provide students with industry insight
On the last day of electronica 2014, which takes place from 11th to 14th November in Munich, college students and graduates can gain insight into the everyday working life of an electronics engineer. Student Day has been organised to address continuing technological advancements in the electronics sector. On this dedicated day, nine teams and their inventions will also compete for the COSIMA Award.
Atmel to showcase IoT products at electronica 2014
Atmel will be exhibiting it's IoT products at electronica 2014, which takes place from 11th to 14th November. The company will showcase products which are designed to enable smart, connected and secure devices in the IoT at the show’s SMART HOME, INDUSTRIAL, AUTOMOTIVE and MAKER zones. At 542.A5 Atmel will also launch IoT products.
Bridge driver & rad hard IC on show at electronica
At electronica 2014, which takes place from 11th to 14th November in Munich, Intersil will exhibit bridge drivers, radiation hardened ICs and analogue and sensor ICs at three distribution partner booths. At Macnica’s booth (A5.167) there will be a demonstration of Intersil’s HIP2103 bridge driver powering a DeWalt 20V MAX XR Lithium-ion Brushless Compact Drill.

BGA failures under discussion at Scotland Technology event
Peter Koch, European X-Ray Application Engineer, at Nordson Dage is lined up to present at their Distributor Etek’s Technology Event, in Prestwick, Scotland (Nov 5-6). He will present “Failure Analysis with X-Ray – in 2D, Tomosynthesis and CT.” Koch will discuss failures on BGAs, HiP (Head in Pillow) defects, cracks and simple failures such as solder bridges.
Communication module advances smart metering
imec, iMinds, and their partners in the iMinds ICON-project CoPlaSM will present the results of a two-year project to realise and validate proof of concept of a multi-standard communication module for smart meters at the European Utility Week, Amsterdam (Nov 4-6). The sharp increase in decentralised renewable electricity production, such as the case with solar panels, creates the need for a smart two-way electricity grid.
