Current monitoring supplier signs deal with Mouser
Mouser Electronics has signed a global distribution agreement with Western Automation Research and Development, a division of Littelfuse, and a leading manufacturer of residual current monitoring technologies specifically designed to reduce the risk of electric shock for AC and DC electric vehicle (EV) charging.
Western Automation Research and Development products can be found in nearly all residential, commercial and industrial applications, and Mouser is now stocking the latest offerings from Western Automation including the EVCC-01 electric vehicle charger controller.
The EVCC-01 EV charger controller provides residual current monitoring (RCM) and protection against electric shock during electric vehicle charging for both AC and DC currents, with configurable power, all-phase charging current protection and 6mA DC fault current detection.
This charger controller features a single printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) designed to provide all required control functions for EV charging in accordance with IEC 61851 for mode 3 chargers.
It also includes a control pilot function for communication with the EV, with continuous monitoring of the charging current and IO ports for external communications. It is configurable for any single-phase or three-phase system up to 32 A.
The EVCC-01 can be integrated into OEM electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) for mode 3 chargers, such as charging stations or charging units.
Western Automation’s RCM residual current monitors, also available from Mouser, operate from 12VDC to 24VDC supply voltage and detect Residual Currents from 6mA to 56mA. These monitors are intended for the detection of DC and AC residual currents in electric vehicle (EV) charging systems, in accordance with UL2231 or IEC62955, where such current may flow under a fault condition.
These RCM monitors feature an external test facility, "fault" signal output, and 3000 A surge current withstand capability. The RCM residual current monitors can be mounted directly onto a printed circuit board by OEMs, and have an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
These products are available from Mouser in the EMEA, Americas and Asia/Pacific regions
