Upgrading your phone? Try upgrading your home
Whether we desperately need a new one, or just fancy it, we upgrade our phones and our gadgets. We make big improvements to our homes, and invest in brand new appliances, all to make our lives easier, and more fun. Yet there are many areas of our homes that get neglected, many tasks that could be made easier, or annoyances that could be illuminated, with a gadget. Here are some of the best.
Windows
If you’ve got a high window, or a skylight, you’ll at some point have struggled with opening or closing it. More often than not, people give up, and just leave them closed, which is a real shame, as in summer there is nothing better than throwing all the widows open. Luckily, there is a simple solution. Teal Products actuators can make opening your windows easier. You can even automate your window openings.
Declutter
Clutter can make otherwise neat homes look untidy, and can cause a tripping hazard, leading to accidents and injuries. There are some fantastically simple ways to tidy away loose wires from appliances. One great source of clutter is cables from charging devices. Instead, invest in a wireless charger, or charging plate, which can easily charge all of your devices without any clutter or tangled wires.
Bedding
Gone are the days where the only gadget available for your bedding was only an electric blanket. Now, there are temperature controlled sheets, like outlast sheets. They contain tiny capsules, which absorb or release heat, depending on your body temperature. This makes getting comfortable in bed, and having a great night’s sleep, much easier. Waking up
Waking up is one of the worst parts of the day, even after a fantastic night’s sleep. Waking up to a shrill alarm often leaves you feeling grumpy and confused; not the best start to the day. A Lumie Bodyclock starter is a brilliant alternative. The Lumie wakes you slowly, over a 30-minute period. This means you wake gradually, and more naturally, ensuring you start your day in the best mood possible.
Lighting
Lighting can be controlled remotely by your smartphone easily enough. But, there is more to it. Lights, such as the Philips Hue, not only let you turn them on and off remotely, but also select the colour and brightness to help you find the right mood and atmosphere.
Hand washing
Hand washing is incredibly important, especially when you are handling raw meat in the kitchen. We’ve all at some point attempted to turn the tap on, with an elbow, to avoid getting bacteria on the taps. A food peddle sink, helps you save water, and can be much more hygienic than a regular sink.
Cleaning
Cleaning is one thing we’d all like to make easier. Wireless appliances are a great place to start. No longer will you need to move the hoover plug half way around the house. Robot hoovers go a step further by doing most of the work for you.
There are so many ways to use gadgets and electronics to make your home more stylish, safer and easier to live in. Why struggle with tasks when you can get some help?
